Aware Senior Care’s Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Nurse Aide I Scholarship Program will award graduating Certified Nurse Aide I students $600 to cover or defray out-of-pocket costs incurred going through a North Carolina accredited NA I (CNA) program such as Wake Technical Community College’s NA I program.
We are offering this program to our PCA employees to further their professional home health aide skills and further their careers in health care.
The $600 Aware Nurse Aide I Scholars Award payments will be paid on milestones based on both time and average hours worked per week. Requirements:
- The employee averages at least 25 hrs. a week or 50 hrs. per pay period for the length of the program.
- The clock on the NA I PCA scholarship program starts once the employee finishes the Nurse Aide I (CNA) coursework. We do not need to wait on the successful completion of your NA I exam and your listing on the NC Nurse Aide registry.
- Milestone Payments:
o $200 paid after successful completion of the 90-day initial employment period
o $200 +4 Months after 90-days and be in good employment standing
o $200 final payment +4 months from last milestone and be in good employment standing
- To receive milestone payments, you must achieve your listing on the NC Nurse Aide registry.
- Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and delays with NA I testing, we will support and encourage graduating students to work as home health aides immediately after graduation.
